Big Day, Bug Day!

We were looking for some of the smallest things today...Bugs. Now all bugs have six legs but we did find some other small creatures that are also part of the 'bug' and little critter world. What did you find today? Was it crawling or flying or jumping or sliding?
At Stoneridge Farm, it was our first time visiting the hayloft for story time and some exploration.
Today also used nets to help collect the bugs. It was hard to find the bugs today but we had fun trying. If you don't have a net or container to put a bug in, you can use your hand to cup around it. Bugs may bite or sting or cause rashes so limit interactions to a one finger touch until there is a better understanding of being gentle and of your child's sensitivity. Another tip is to look at a fuzzy caterpillar closer by having it crawl on a leaf or a piece of bark.

Today, we snuck into the Heron Hide Out. It was a small shelter that we could all fit under. It felt like we were camping. We also played a game of hide and seek. There were some pretty quiet 'Acorns' which made it hard for Dragonfly to find them!
