Teamwork is a survival strategy for many creatures in order to overcome a challenge. Ants have to work together to build their massive colonies and to be able to carry large food items. Pack animals like wolves take on specific roles so that they can corner or ambush large prey successfully. As humans, we know that the word “T.E.A.M’ stands for “Together everyone achieves more.” We see examples of teamwork all around us - in sports, on the construction site, in factories and even within our own families. The question is “What does it take to be part of a team?” Today we definitely had many opportunities to practice working as a team.

Think about some of the challenges that you faced today. How were you able to overcome them?

In the “Sled and Slope” partner challenge, our job was to design a model of a small sled that would slide the farthest down a ramp. Take a look at some of the designs we came up with!

Explain how you built your sled and how it worked. Talk about any problems you had and how you solved them.

If you watched any of the recent Olympics on TV, you would have seen many examples of athletes working together to achieve their goal. You can also think about our very own Antman and all the different things he does to help our Chickadee team become even stronger. Think about the qualities you have that make you a good member of any team you're on.

3 cheers for an amazing team of Chickadees, junior helpers, and Nature mentors!

Hip, hip, hooray! Hip, hip, hooray! Hip, hip, hooray!

Together we are better!
