Can You Dig It?

Lots of strange incidents happening at the farm. I'm sure YOU have a funny story to tell. Here are a few possible story starters for you.

It was THIS long and had a thick tail and scurried under...

The flies were bad for the ponies so we...

We thought the door was closed but...

It seems there are some funny things in the garden soil like...

Coyote reached in and found a pair of pants....

The baby ducklings (soon to be named) spent the day...

You could keep your family enthralled for a whole evening with tails of what you experienced this visit.

Many of you decided to work with an animal that you haven't helped out with in a little while. Did you remember all of the steps to care for the animals? Chores are a wonderful way of showing the animals that you care for them. Can you think of a couple examples of other ways that we care for our animals at the homestead?

While doing our chores, it is important to understand how the animals communicate with you. Tell someone at home about how your animal communicated with you? How do they ask for attention? How do they show they want space?

Thanks to Hawk who finds many ways to calm situations and use her healing hands. Albert and Jester enjoyed it.

The change in temperature meant we needed to adjust to feeling hot for the first time in AGES! How did you feel in the heat today, did you need to bring more water, sunscreen, a hat or take some shade time?

With the warm weather, we were finally able to explore the river again! Did you notice any changes at outpost? Different wildlife? Or did you see new flowers popping up around the farm.

We love seeing Robert who has spent hours preparing for our next construction project and always has just the right tools to use. How is this new structure going to be better for our ducks? What new features did you help to add?

Otter is a great supervisor (with hands on hips) Overseeing the BIG garden makeover!

What was your role in the clean up? Were you taking out the screws of the structure? Using a hoe to search the soil? Or moving the soil to the tarp beside the raised bed? Part of this job was to clear the garden of objects and materials that didn't belong there, Do you remember what you found?

If you are interested in helping with the Thames river cleanup, it has been rescheduled for this weekend on Saturday at Milt Dunnell Field in St. Mary's. I'm sure that Todd would love to have as many helping hands as possible!
