It may have been a rainy day, but our homesteaders know how to make the most of wet weather. With muddy boots and bright spirits, we spent our day caring for animals, planning our garden, and beginning an exciting building project.

What could be cuter than ducklings? It's a big responsibility having 3 day old babies. What are some of the most important things we have to do to keep them alive and healthy? (get ready to answer this skill testing question next week)
Take a look at the name suggestions chalked on the duck house lid. What are your two favourites? There were so many ideas, it's hard to peck just two!

Albert and Libby stayed inside this morning. They are quite a content old couple when they hang out together.

What was your role during our chores? We see your confidence growing each week at the farm! For next week, try to sign up for an animal that you haven't worked with in a while to see if you can remember all of the steps of the chores.
You all got super muddy but stayed very happy today! I wonder who will do all the laundry???

We journeyed out to Outpost for our wander. Did you participate in the horse show or play in the rain? We noticed many signs of spring popping up. Can you think of 3 things around the farm that have changed since last week? Think about the plants, bugs and animals.
Check out the snails that we found during our wander! It looks like they loved the rainy weather.
We have started two construction projects for the ducks. What are the two different houses we are building and what do we need to do to complete them?
Some of you used tin snips to cut the roof, others drilled holes, put in roofing nails, measured for the windows or used a jigsaw to cut them out. Share at home what part you worked on with Antman. Does anyone know what Antman did in his life to become SO good at this kind of work?
Big project coming in! Our homesteaders will be helping to create a raised bed this spring. During our planning session, we thought about how we may build this. Tell someone at home about your design, What features did it have? How tall would it be? Think about how much sunlight will hit your garden, did you have to change your design when considering this?
What a wonderful day with the Homesteaders and we will see all of you next week!
