Maple Moments

It was one of those winter days that begs you to explore. We had a wonderful time wandering, finding tracks in the snow, learning about poetry, and making delicious snacks.

We begun our day at the fire, warming up in the heat and practicing gratitude. Try to take some time this week to think of 3 things that you are grateful for to bring back next Thursday.

We have a new animal who has an interesting birth story. Tell the funny story of Duckworth to someone at home.

Duckworth is feeling much better now, take a look at him in his new home.

The stalls and pens were super clean. Are you finding the step-by-step instructions helpful? Keep practicing those key words! (R, P, S, S, S)

Handling each of our farm animals is the most important way to build trust. How was the animal you worked with today? One of our Mane Events was leading the horses. Libby got a bit anxious during the leading. I wonder what could have been going on here? We'll ask next week for your ideas!

We got the chance to find some track in the snow. Check out the deer bedding spot that we found near the homestead! Think about some of the reasons that a deer may find this place to be such a wonderful resting spot.

What did you get up to during our wander at pine haven? Did you make fine dishes for the animals, go sledding and jumping down the hill? I think that the animals around the forest will love the dishes that you've made for them.

We had the chance to learn a little bit about poetry writing. Can you recall the 7 ideas that we can base our poetry on? Lets give a special thank you to chipmunk and painted turtle for giving us such a wonderful session

You showed wonderful patience while waiting for the maple taffy to be ready. Can you recall the method that we used to test if it was ready? Even though it didn’t go as planned, Snow and maple syrup still are a wonderful combination.
