Our Neighbourhood of Trees
Today we spent some time getting to know one of the most important parts of our forest, our trees! We talked about all the ways trees provide homes, food, and shelter for the creatures around us. Even after a tree falls, it can continue to be an important part of the forest and support all kinds of life.
Our story began with one big question... are trees alive? You learned about all of the similarities trees have to us. Can you name a few? We both breath, we both eat. Talk to your family about other similarities. By the end of the book, we found more then 10!

At Pine Haven, we had the chance to do a little bit of exploring! Did you make a magical wand or practice your tree climbing skills? Many of you also found some critters in the woods, Tell someone at home what you found.
You became friends with a tree and we took a tour though the neighbourhood. Tell someone at home about what you shared with the group. Here's a guide. What's your trees name? What kind of tree is it? How did you decorate your new friend? Many of you found life on or around your tree, what did you find?
Share what you added to your notebook about your new tree friend. Did you draw a picture? Did share the name or type of tree it was? We loved to see how focused you were on creating your journal entries!
