Crayfish, caterpillars and snails…oh my! What adventures we had as our group of nature lovers set out each day at Camp Coyote to explore a new location around Stoneridge Farm! It was exciting to discover how one place had so many amazing secrets to share! The forest habitats provided lots of opportunities to interact with a variety of trees and get to know them better. We were grateful for the shelter the trees provided from the rain during our ‘Find my Tree’ game. Were you able to figure out which tree you had touched, smelled, and hugged? Which forest was your favourite - Backwoods or Christmas Forest?

Over the stream and through the woods to Crayfish Catch we went! Summer was the perfect time for activities involving the stream. What types of creatures did you discover as you explored this habitat? Which of your boats floated the best - the one made from recycled materials or the one made with natural materials?

Over in the meadow where the green grass grows…what plants and insects were you able to discover? Did you notice any Monarch and Cabbage butterflies fluttering around Joe Pyeweed plants? Try to remember how it felt to walk through the grasses and flowers that were taller than you as you searched for hidden treasures.

We also made lots of discoveries around the barn and Homestead area.

Coyote Camp wouldn’t have been camp without crafts, special guests, fun activities, and the daily search for Little Beaver.

We are so glad we had the chance to spend the week making memories with you! We would be happy to see you again next year at Coyote Summer Camp. And if you still feel that you didn’t get enough nature, you might even want to consider registering for one of our Coyote Nature School full year programs for this coming year! Limited places available for this impactful child experience.

Yours in nature,
Beaver, Cardinal, Coyote, Antman, and Chickadee
