What's that tweet, tweet, tweeting at Stoneridge Farm? All around the farm today we saw birds flying, waddling, eating, nesting and tweeting. Did you see the 'plush birds' hiding along the trails? Did you notice any changes on Tippy Trail?
While playing the part of a bird today, what kind of natural materials did you use to make your bird's nest? What did you do to keep your chick safe? Imaginative play is fun whether it's pretending to take care of a baby bird or pretending to make soup.
Using our eyes and ears to explore while walking, reaching, pointing, crawling can be tricky even as an adult. Did you or your child notice anything special along the trails today?
If you are looking to introduce something a little more for your child while walking outside, try adding some literacy or numeracy. Bring a book to read outdoors or make letters using twigs or starting counting while picking up some nature treasures. Activities like these can be engaging both physically and mentally for your child. Next time your are on a walk try something a little different and see what happens! Happy Trails!
