Stoneridge Farm was bustling with activity as we welcomed the keen Acorns & Oaks participants for their weekly visit to the farm spending time exploring outside and learning about nature.

The ducks were waddling, horses were eating and the bunnies were nowhere to be seen! Lots of other wild animals live at the farm too! Can your child remember what kind of animal they found along the trails?

Gray and Red Squirrels are busy collecting food so that they can have something to eat during the winter months. Squirrels are found in the trees and on the ground and even in water. Squirrels move in a lot of different ways including running, jumping, gliding and even swimming. Stop and watch a squirrel this week and then try to act like a squirrel with your child. Maybe you want to reread the story from today “Squirrels Leap, Squirrels Sleep by A. Sayre” or visit another natural space this week. I am looking forward to discovering more next week with you and your child!  Happy Trails!
