Deer and Grasshopper make some stew!

There’s a special kind of magic that happens when children step into the wild wonders of nature. At Summer Nature Day Camp, set against the backdrop of Harrington Hall and Conservation Area, each day was bursting with fun, laughter, and curiosity.

Every day was a chance to discover something new, make friends, and see the world with curious eyes. Whether we were scavenging for nature’s treasures, inventing forest games, or simply sitting quietly, we were making memories—one magical moment at a time.

Some of our adventures took us to different places. Exploring under the cedar trees in Cedar Hideaway and among large pine trees Mystery Forest. Hiking around Harrington Pond while listening for birds and looking for bugs. Discovering what lives in the pond and what lives in the field.

Magic at the Library

Thank you to Grey Squirrel for two great visits to the Harrington Public Library! On Tuesday, we made campfire starters with dry natural plant materials and we heard an excellent story called "The Red Canoe" by Wayne Johnson. On Friday, we did an "Around the World" scavenger hunt with a story based on nature found in South America. We also made pan flutes to take home.

The Magicians

Nature friends and mentors that help make the magic happen! Thank you for your time and energy during this hot, hot week!

Everyone is invited back to Harrington for the Harrington Hometown Centennial (100 years) on August 9 from 11-2:30. Dragonfly and Coyote will be there to greet you and give you a scavenger hunt to explore this wonderful natural and historical setting with your family.
