This Lands Wisdom
The Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe and Chippewa people have so much to teach us. We spent our morning learning about the different ways that these people respected the land. How did you respect our land today? Were you kind to animals, did you take only what you needed from plants or showed kindness to a friend beside you?

During our read aloud, we learned about the 3 sister plants, can you remember what they were? (Corn, Squash and beans) During our game you acted just like one of these plants!

The fall brings many mushrooms to the surface around the farm. We got to see this Shaggy Mane on our way to Outpost
During our wander, many of you explored the river, searching for crayfish and water striders. Some of you build your own "Spear the Deer". This was a toy indigenous people used to help their hand eye coordination for them to become better hunters. Where you able to get it?
Antman shared another one of his wonderful collections of bugs with us. He even brought along his rare find of a giant milliped. Do you remember how to tell the difference between a bug and an insect? (insects have 6 legs) Thanks so much to Antman for sharing these with us!
You got to make corn art with Beaver in the cabin. Tell someone at home about the colours that you chose. These pieces of art will look great on a wall or a fridge!
If your tree friend could talk, what would it say to you. Would they say thanks you for taking care of them? Would they tell you about the changing seasons and how it feels when their leaves fall off? Share one of your ideas that you wrote about with your family.
