Time in Nature has a way of teaching without words. With this smiling fall weather, we took time to just be together; stretching trust boundaries, falling into new friendships, deepening old ones, and testing skills. Talk to your families about how you know Coyote and the other Nature Mentors trust you. What activity shows this? (meet you there) What does it take to keep that trust? (you know the answer) Are there ways that you keep yourself safe as we trust you to wander further on your own?
Share the story of our big wander time. Talk about what you chose to do, who with, and how it turned out. When you finally sat down at the log circle for lunch, what did you say you were most thankful for? Why?

We found something that told a story today. What may have happened here?

Mornings are full of freedom to find a place to make your mark. Zoom in to find yourself in one of these pictures and talk about what you are doing and what you’d like to do next week.
Our tree friends now have someone to keep them company. It was interesting how your group divided up the squash so everyone was happy. How did you do it? You probably gave your squash a face and a name. Describe it to your families. What might happen to the squash over the next week while you’re gone?

Seeds are on our mind and in the air. Seeds are little packets of love for the new life they will bring to the new spaces they travel to. Don't be surprised if you have some seeds from a goldenrod, joe pye weed or asters. Keep them in a dry place to plant in the spring. 100% of students collecting seeds to take home did not want to take burdock home. Why did you leave the seeds of the burdock? Was it because they are food for animals?

Seeds turn into sprouts with just a bit of water. What else do seeds need to grow?

We were excited to show off our leaf identification skills for Dragonfly. Can you show off at home?
Poetry can be seen in a snail trail, mouse hole or bird's nest. What inspired your poetry today? Did you create a poem you can recite at home?

Thanks for your creativity and wonder today....
just next visit clean up the kitchen AND don't forget your hat please:)

What an amazing place you always have to come back to Forest Friends!
