Setting an intention is like putting on a pair of glasses to see the world in a new way. We each set an intention today and wrote it in our journal. Fill in the blank....

Today I commit myself to be....(what did you write)

Did you remember your intention throughout the day? What difference did it make to how your day turned out? Salmon set his intention to be more energetic. His chores certainly went faster today! We challenge you to get up tomorrow, stretch and find an intention to follow for tomorrow too. We'll chat more about this when Hawk is back next week.

Horses have moods too. What mood was your horse in and how did you do leading them through the obstacle course? Jester set his intention today to be VERY spicy!!

We found out that the bunnies were closed out of their kitchen for a couple days. How did this happen? Is there a new rule we have to make sure this doesn't happen again? (You close it, you open it).

Our wander led us to animal tracks, snowy games, sledding adventures, and time nurturing the animals. How did you spend your wander time around the Homestead?

Some of us even became “human bird feeders,” patiently waiting for birds to land and snack from us! Look close and see if you can spot the bird taking off from Snail.

We began exploring poetry for April’s Poetry Month with the theme of “Land and Sea.” What images or feelings come to mind when you think of the land around you? Or the vastness of the sea? How did you come up with your ideas for your poem?

Take some time this week to brainstorm. You might think about places you’ve visited, sights you’ve seen, sounds you’ve heard, or even smells and textures that remind you of land and sea. Could your poem tell a story, describe a moment, or capture a feeling? What small details might make your poem come alive for someone else reading it?

We continued our work on our lucet forks. Adding finishing touches with fine control takes time and patience. What did you feel was the largest challenge in working on your project? Antman has taught us to use sandpaper and make our strokes follow the grain of the wood. How is this the same as what we know about grooming horses? Wooden't it be great if we could master both!

We celebrated Antman's birthday today! He has been such an amazing addition to the Coyote Nature School team. Can you tell a story about something Antman has taught you or a story he has told? I think we all learn something new each week from Antman! Happy #? birthday!!!
