Following Our Senses

Today our Turtles talked about thanksgiving and chatted about all the things that we are grateful for. We found so many! Some of the answers we heard were friends, family, trees, birds and bugs. Share with someone how you answered this questions.

Shirin-Yoku is the Japanese practice of forest bathing. As we walked, we focused on our sense. What did you see, hear, smell and touch. Did you notice the sun reflect on the water, the sound of water falling over the dam or birds flying over head. When we take a minute to pause and listen it can be surprising how much we can notice!

After visiting and decorating our tree friends we went on a little neighbourhood tour. Tell someone at home how you answered these questions.

1) Did you name your tree friend. If so, what are they called?

2) What kind of tree is your tree friend?

3)How did you decorate your tree friend?

Grey squirrel made a wonderful craft for us! (Thank you so much) What were the steps you took to make this craft? What part did you enjoy the most? (Painting, Gluing or adding the bubble wrap)

During our wander we final had a chance to visit Cedar Hideaway. Did you spend your time exploring the water to catch water striders and crayfish? Or were you someone who focused on building shelters or fox dens out of long stick in the forest?
