Onward to other experiences, long summer days and some time to look back on memories made together at nature school. What were your favourite times in fall, winter and spring. What will you miss most as we say Farewell to the Class of 2024/25 at Stoneridge Farm.

If we were giving out report cards at nature school, we know you’d get an A+!
Monarch, your kindness shines through every day. You love to share funny stories or make up wild possibilities with your BIG imagination. We notice how much you help younger children feel better.

Snail, you are playful, loving and have definitely found a home here on the farm. You love the company of your friends which include the horses and chickens. Your smile makes us all happy.

Cardinal, what an amazing Nature Brain you have! You remember all you have learned and add this to our chats about plants and animals. What about those great wander time ideas like the woodland store!

Blue Jay, you are not only growing taller but so much more curious. You are our bird spotter, nest finder, and lover of all animals. We can’t believe how brave you!

Squirrel, you now lead the trail noticing cool stuff that is new each week. You truly want all things to be fair and include everyone as you check to make sure we are all having fun! You have grown up!

Frog, you make sure to live nature school at home, trying experiments, looking for new life and showing respect for the land. You share your feelings and help others do the same. You’re a GREAT friend.

Acorn, you have a very active imagination which makes play and wander times so much more fun when you are around. You love all living things, showing kindness with your gentle footsteps and hands. Everyone loves to be partnered with you.

Lynx, you are always so happy and easy to get along with. You love making new discoveries especially around the water. We can count on you to find treasures like fossils hidden out of sight.

Chickadee, you lead by example and take on new challenges. You love to help out with younger children and many jobs that need to get done for the whole group. You will be an excellent junior nature mentor next year.

Blue Racer you are full of ideas and have a big brain for facts which you share in stories. We love how you take on building projects and have learned how to use tools safely. We can count on you to make us all laugh.

Turtle you really think about what is being taught and remember it! You add such interesting comments and questions that help us all learn more. You have a busy imagination, funny sense of humour, and love to perform for others.

Salmon, you are SO kind toward others and get along with everyone. Your tricks like doing a fish impression by squirming on the ground get us giggling. Your confidence to try new things has grown SO much!

Eagle, you are curious about everything and love trying new things. You are great at building and helping with the farm chores. We love hearing your voice more when you share your ideas.

Deer, you love being outdoors and lead by being a great example for everyone to follow. You always say yes to helping out with a smile on your face. You can be counted on to listen carefully and figure out the best way to do something quickly.

You came home with an AMAZING living gift from Antman. Don’t forget those small seeds ((Fortescue Beans) in your backpack. When you plant them in soil and give them something to climb (like a fence) they will share the most beautiful flowers and super sized beans to have with your supper. These beans are SO big that one will be enough for you. Wait until fall to collect the rest of the pods, take out the seeds to keep dry for next year. You’ll have a whole new crop. Thank you Antman!

Giving is so much part of being a volunteer, staff or parent of a child in our program. We loved giving thanks for the mentors who believe in getting you outdoors, hugging trees and noticing green things growing.

You might not know it, but this time in nature is rewiring your brain, settling your feelings, making you stronger, and tuning your senses to the heartbeat of another mother…EARTH.
We see what lies beneath are important feelings that can be sorted through with a walk in nature. Remember that whenever you need her, Nature is there for you. Just get outside!
Farewell Forest Friends. Keep singing…
This pretty planet, spinning through space
Your garden, your harbour, your happy place
Golden sun going down, gentle blue planet spin us around
All through the night, safe till the morning light
