Thank you Hawk for leading us in a meditation to start our day. Did you notice the wind moving through the trees, the soft grass beneath you, or the sound of birds flying overhead? How did your body and mind feel afterward? Finding these peaceful moments can help us feel calm, focused, and ready for the day ahead.

As animals grow and seasons change their housing needs are different too. Have you noticed what has been done for the ducks and rabbits over time? Think about all of the changes that have happened with chores and living situations since winter, try to name 3 ways our chores are different now.

The horses have lost their winter coats and are easier to groom. The dry conditions mean that their feet are hard packed and hard to pick out. All the horses seemed to want to keep their feet on the ground and stomp away the flies.

We chatted about how young horses are started in training to get them ready to ride. We played the jumpy game and put weight on their backs. How can you tell if the horse  is ready to take a rider's weight?

During our wander, some of you gave yourselves nature makeovers, some searched for frogs, while others created clay sculptures from materials you found outside. What was your favorite discovery? Did you notice something tiny that you might normally walk right past?

A couple of you worked with Robert to make repairs on the chicken coop. How did you repair the window and how will this help our chickens stay safe in their coop? Acorn did some work on repairing the ramp at the back of the coop. What steps did you take to make and install this ramp?

The garden is complete! You all have put so much work into this project the past couple weeks. After a plant was in the ground we added two important things on top of them, do you remember what they were and why (Sheep manure and straw)? What vegetable are you excited to try once they are ready to be eaten? I Beet some of you are already looking forward to the harvest!

The garden may be a spot to work on while we do chores. What daily and weekly maintenance do you think we will have to do to take care of this garden next week?

NOTE TO STUDENTS: Start to think about how we might show gratitude for the adults who have worked so hard to make this NEW program special for us. Coyote will be spending some time with you on this next week, so please come with some ideas....remember we are good with our hands so don't need to order anything on AMAZON!! What can we create?
