Sometimes when we are walking along a trail, we’re so busy looking ahead that we fail to notice the details of the nature that surrounds us. The month of June is the perfect time to press the pause button. Our program has come to an end and we can now stop and look around. Even better, we can look back on all of the moments in nature that have taken our breath away.
Many new memories were made on the west side of the pond this year including the construction of a new shelter which finally has a name - Muskrat Lodge! Do you remember why we named it that? (Hint: Think back to the winter time.) What other things did you like doing in Cedar Hideaway today?

“Bring a Stuffie to Nature School” day was a great way to end our time together. Were you surprised to see that Little Beaver had returned? What things will your stuffie remember about his or her day at nature school?
There were lots of people who helped to make our days in Harrington fun and exciting!
Who will you remember and why?

Today was also about remembering and reflecting on friendships made throughout the year and how each of you played an important part in making our Heron group fantastic!
Blue Racer: You were our ‘Nature Noticer’. Everywhere we went, you noticed the smallest details that sometimes led to the biggest discoveries!
Daisy: You were our ‘Nature Friend’! Your willingness to work with everyone made you a valuable member of our team!
Firefly: You were our ‘Nature Lover’. Your resilience and your passion for nature were an inspiration to all of us!
Fox: You were our ‘Nature Wonderer’ this year. You always thought about what you were seeing and asked lots of questions.
Hummingbird: You were our ‘Nature Enthusiast’! Your outgoing personality and endless creative ideas always made our wander times in Mystery Forest even more exciting!
Owl: You were our ‘Nature Artist’. You inspired others to take their time and believe that they could draw like you too!
Pin Cherry: You were our ‘Nature Creator’. You have a wonderful imagination and could transform a stick and some vines into a fantastic magic wand!
Rose: You were our ‘Nature Doer’. You tried more and more new activities and often ended up with a big smile on your face, proud of what you had accomplished!
Sunflower: You were our ‘Nature Caregiver’. Whether it was a plant, an insect, or an animal, you always had its back!
Water Bear: You were our ‘Mr. Know-it-all’. You love to learn and your incredible wealth of knowledge about almost anything in nature made you the perfect go-to guy whenever we needed an answer to a question!
Wolf: You were our ‘Nature Organizer’. Your strong leadership skills allowed you to share the work so that the job always got done well.

Thank you to each one of you for being you! You made this an unforgettable year!
Happy summer and happy trails to you and your family!
