How did you spend your Monday morning? The Acorns & Oaks group have been showing up at Stoneridge Farm for the last six weeks. During our time at the farm we have spent a lot of time outside. We challenge ourselves to walk on grass and dirt; flat and uneven ground; up and down hills. We have fun exploring areas like the Homestead lawn, to the grasses in the fields, trees in the forest and even the creek. Today we had a closer look at the farm animals who live at Stoneridge Farm.

Before our visit with the farm animals, we took a short walk to Pine Haven for snack and story time. Today’s story about “Who took the Farmer’s Hat?”. It turns out none of the ‘Acorns’ took the Farmer’s Hat. Does your child remember where the hat was when the farmer found it?

When we got back to the barn, we saw the hens waiting in their pen. Did you say hello and give them a snack? Did you see the ducks (Scout and Skipper) wandering around the arena? Did you say hello and give them a snack?

Did you see Nibbles in her rabbit house? And what about your visit with Princess? How did it feel when you gave her a pet?

The horses were in their outdoor pen too!  Did you get to brush Libby the horse?

Cardinal kept watch over by the campfire pit. Did you like painting, hammering or scooping?  What activities and/or animals did your child like on their adventure today? What a busy morning?
