Whittling Wonders

What an amazing day with the Homesteaders! Even though we missed having Coyote with us, we spent the day wandering through the snowy fields, working hard on our chores, and playing together in the crisp winter air.

The intentions we set are like seeds planted in the ground. For them to grow, we must nurture, water and care for them. Tell someone at home how you nurtured your intentions for today. Did you help a friend, work hard or try something new while you were at the farm today.

How did you show our animals that we care for them today? Did you do this by petting or grooming or by doing a wonderful job while clearing out their stalls? Care can look different when we aren't with the horses but we can show our love for the animals by caring for their space and being sure they are comfortable.

During our wander, we noticed many deer tracks winding through the forest. Some of us chose to follow these trails as we tried to understand where the animals had gone and why. Others explored Christmas Forest and played pretend. Can you tell someone at home about the horse show that you put on?

Our poetry theme is land and sea. How did you think of your ideas? Did you find rhyming words or focus on a specific animal to write about. Get ready for next week for when we start to work on our good copies!

Send out a big thank you to Antman for coming to help us out with our lucet forks. Your dedication to this project is really paying off and we are excited to begin weaving with them next week.

Nice shot sunflower! Hard to get anything past Antman when he's guarding the goal.

A couple of our friend did a "horse show" with a rider and their animal. Their show had us all reining in our excitement. Check out this routine from Cardinal and Deer!
